Profile

Forensic Geneticist, DNA Profiling Scientist and Educator

Dr. Abida Shehzadi completed her MPhil in Zoology at GCU Lahore, focusing on immunoinformatics, before completing a PhD in Molecular Biology from CEMB, affiliated with the Forensic DNA Typing Research Lab.

One of her notable achievements is developing a novel PCR multiplex assay capable of simultaneously detecting autosomal, Y/RM-Y and X-chromosomal STRs. Validation studies have demonstrated its efficacy as a sensitive, robust and highly informative tool for forensic science and paternity testing.

Her research interests span protein modelling, phylogenetic analysis and immunoinformatics to epitope prediction, as well as forensic and paternity testing, and she actively participates in national and international conferences.
