Virologist, Infectious Disease Researcher and Educator
Dr. Iram Amin completed her MSc in Biochemistry from the University of the Punjab, an MS in Biotechnology from Lahore College for Women University, and a PhD in Molecular Biology and Forensic Sciences from the University of the Punjab. She joined CEMB's Virology Group in 2007 as Research Officer cum Lecturer.
She has worked on projects covering Hepatitis B, C and D and dengue virus, and is currently working on an HIV project. Her research spans host-virus interaction, genome-wide studies, molecular diagnostics, epidemiology and assay development for virus detection and genotyping.
She won Research Publication Incentive Awards from 2016 to 2020 and a Performance Evaluation Award in 2017 from the University of the Punjab. During her PhD she was selected for the International Research Support Initiative Program (IRSIP) by HEC-Pakistan in 2019, training at the CDC, USA.
