Profile

Biopharmaceutical Scientist, Protein Technologist and Educator

Dr. Nadeem Ahmed is Associate Professor and head of the Biopharmaceuticals and Proteomics Laboratory at CEMB, University of the Punjab — an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility. His research interests span biopharmaceuticals, biosimilars, anticancer proteins and fusion peptides, and drug delivery systems.

He has developed indigenous production technology for Taq Polymerase, Hot Start Polymerase, Pfu Polymerase, reverse transcriptase, 2X PCR Mix, qPCR Mix and 2X Hot Start Mix, along with human recombinant therapeutics including Interferon alpha, Filgrastim, PEG-filgrastim, Proleukin and Thrombex.

He has published more than 39 international papers, supervised 52 MPhil and 5 PhD students, and built CEMB's first ISO 9001:2015-certified protein production facility.

Indigenous enzyme production

Developed indigenous production technology for Taq, HotStart and Pfu polymerases, reverse transcriptase and PCR mixes.
