Neurobiology Researcher, Molecular Biologist and Educator
Dr. Rashid Bhatti completed his MPhil from CEMB, University of the Punjab, and began serving as a Research Officer in 2004, working in genetics and virology, including research on deafness and diagnostic work under the PM's Program for Prevention & Control of Hepatitis.
He obtained his PhD in 2015 through HEC Pakistan's 5000 indigenous scholarship scheme and completed six months of training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre, University of Cincinnati, via an IRSIP scholarship.
His interests centre on genetic diseases and molecular medicine, specifically understanding molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases in Pakistani populations and screening medicinal plants against cancer and neurological disease.
