Plant Biotechnologist, Vaccine Researcher and Educator
Dr. Samiullah joined the University of the Punjab in August 2006. His CEMB page lists his current position as Research Officer cum Lecturer (BPS-18) while he pursues Ph.D. studies as a Research Scholar in the Plant Biotechnology Lab.
His research interests span plant molecular biology, plant biotechnology, immunology, biochemistry, plant biosafety, GMO analysis, and cultivation of the super food Spirulina.
Key achievements include multiple-gene transformation in cotton, research on pre- and post-release monitoring of genetically modified cotton crops, and doctoral work on edible vaccine production against Avian Influenza Virus in poultry. He has contributed to projects funded by PARB, ICARDA (USA), and HEC, and to protein-based detection research on CEMB cotton varieties CKC3, CKC5, CKC6, CKC7 and CKC8.
